Arithmetic Progression

Arithmetic Progression

A sequence of numbers is called an Arithmetic progression if the difference between any two consecutive terms is always the same. In simple terms, it means that the next number in the series is calculated by adding a fixed number to the previous number in the series. For example, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 is an AP because difference between any two consecutive terms in the series (common difference) is same (4 – 2 = 6 – 4 = 8 – 6 = 10 – 8 = 2).

Fact about Arithmetic Progression :
  1. Initial term: In an arithmetic progression, the first number in the series is called the initial term.
  2. Common difference: The value by which consecutive terms increase or decrease is called the common difference.
  3. The behavior of the arithmetic progression depends on the common difference d. If the common difference is:positive, then the members (terms) will grow towards positive infinity or negative, then the members (terms) will grow towards negative infinity.
Formula of nth term of an A.P :
If ‘a’ is the initial term and ‘d’ is the common difference.Thus, the explicit formula is
Formula of sum of nth term of A.P:

Internship Experience
School internship is an important part of Teacher’s Training Program. Our college every year sends the B.Ed  students for internship in different schools. I had been sent to St. Ignatius higher secondary school Kanjiramattom. Basically in the  year of internship we had to work and make report on some aspects i.e. 50 lesson pans,  case study ,peer evaluation,physical education classes,action research and value education classes. The interns are not paid any amount for the internship
I was excited and nervous for my first day of internship. I arrived the school in time and I  met the headmistress mrs Aliyamma Mathew and I introduced me .Teacher told me to meet Meena teacher because she is the mathematics teacher and she provided me for separate room.She was very co-operative and well behaved.
In the staff room I was sitting but feeling very uncomfortable because all the teachers of the school were arriving one by one and I have to wish them all and have to take their reactions which I was not able to categories.
  The assembly starts from 9.15 a.m everyday.
On the first day I went for the first substitution class in class 9th. Students greeted me by standing up, after receiving their greet I told them to take their places .next days I went for the first mathematics class in class 8th A.
After taking 35mins of class bell ranged all studens told  me thank you teacher  and I was  to leave the class
First day first class taught me that knowledge about rules and regulation is most important steps before getting into any organization.
I had took many substitution classes from class 6th to 10th and handled the classes nicely and got confident and a little proud that I am able to handle the classes some were asking to tell story and I told a story to control the class
Headmistress suggested me to teling stories and value education classes  for them so I prepared and performed these in substituted classes. Childrens and teachers, had appreciated me for this classes.I belived I did my job well and my consent teacher meena miss made corrections in my teaching. also she told me your performance was good
I covered my 50 lesson plans,physical education classes and value education classes. I wrote this in my record and got Headmistress  signature over it.
In my case study sheet I had studied a 8th class boy named Jeffin Bobban. He was very inteligent of the class but was a little aggressive. I talked to him and gathered his information and mad e case study report on him.
Having all this sweet and sour experience the last day came, the Headmistress thanked me in the staff room. At that day I had to collect information about schools with help of school diary, school magazine and from school staffs. After collecting all the information like number of classrooms, total teachers, total students, facilities etc.
These golden days taught me so much. At that day I felt the importance and value of B.Ed course. I felt so blessed that almighty had selected such a valuable profession for me. Indeed I had learned a lot from this internship so I will never going to forget these magical days of my life.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

INTRODUCTION

     Globalization and technological changes have created a new global economy powered by technology fuelled by information and driven by knowledge. The emergence of the new global economy has serious implication for the nature and purpose of educational institutions. As the access to information continues to grow rapidly schools cannot be contented with the limited knowledge to be transmitted in a fixed period of time They have to become compatible to the ever expanding knowledge and also be equipped with the technology to deal with this knowledge.

   ICT (Information and communication technology),which include ,Radio, Television as well as newer digital technologies such as computer and the internet have been proven as potentially power full tools for educational change and reform.

MEANING OF ICT

 ICT refers to technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications. It is similer ti information technology. This includes the internet,wireless,cellphones and other communication mediums.

DEFINITION

ICT Defined as the type of technology employed in the shape of tools ,equipment and application support which helps in the collection ,storage,retrieval ,use,transmission,manipulation as accordingly and efficiently as possible for the purpose of enriching the knowledge, developing communication,decision making and problem solving ability of the user.

ROLE OF ICT IN EDUCATION

ICT Can play important role in our information and communication process and the outcomes of the technologies make our life more comfortable and purposeful.

*       ICT Helps in the field of business,industry,insurance,banking,medicine,transport,postal and                 telecommunication service organisation.
*       It helpful to our day today activities.

*       ICT is used for the training for receiving and using information for their self-development and             develop their knowledge also.
*       ICT help to improve their knowledge,understanding skills,market,attitude.

*       ICThelpful to the non-carriculur areas of education also.

*       It help the development in the field of education ,educations aministration and planning.

*       With the assistance of ICT the students are able to exposed large amount of information and                 opportunities for collaborating with others and they communicate with each other.

SCOPE OF ICT

$    Expanding educational opportunities.

$    Enhancing quality of learning.

$   Faciliating skill formaulation.

$   Increasing efficiency

$   Sustainig life long learning.

$   Printed media in the form of textbook,resource book,journals,new items and other literature                 available in school and public libraries.
$   Verbal information and ideas enhanced with the peers ,teachers,parents and other members of the       society.

$   Application softweres such as word processing ,spredsheets ,power point simulation and speed           recognition.

$   Multimedia projector to communicate to large group.

$  Digital libraries.

CONCLUSION

No nation can develop with out ICT based education. It is regarded as the fuel of development.ICT based education is the essential ingrediant in deloping new ideas , in course content and carriculum and in the creation of materials and methods of learning and thing. Studen needed ICT based information for teaching.

      With the assistance of ICT  the students are able to get exposed large amount of information and opportunities for collaborating with others and they communicate with each other , this help them to develope their knowledge and skills . It provide a way to rethink and redesign the educational system and process.
